Book Club

We meet on the second Monday of the month at 7pm
Over the period of a year, the group reads 11 books; one per month and then in December, the next 11 are selected. Books of all varieties are chosen and whilst not everyone may like or dislike the book, this is part of the enjoyment in the group!

We meet on the second Tuesday of the month at the Village Hall/Library on Park Road.10am - 12pm.

The group is very much led by what members want to make. We try to make it fun, so if you would like to come along for a “knit and natter and coffee,” you'll be made very welcome.
Some past activities include card making, decoupage, beading, rope crocheting, fabric notice board, Christmas gnome and ribbon flowers.

Food and Produce

Due to demand, we now have two groups, both meeting in the Village Hall/Library.
One meets on the first Wednesday of each month, from 2pm - 4pm and the other, on the first Tuesday of each month, 10am -12pm

The group typically attracts members who have a culinary interest, however you don't need to be a great cook to join, as we all share recipes and ideas and of course our mistakes made along the way!

Some months we have blind tastings, others we focus on a specific theme and discuss favourite recipes. Guest speakers are arranged each year and where possible, a couple of visits to key producers locally.
We also enter the Co-operative class of the New Forest Show.

Quizzes

We meet on the first Monday of each month, 2pm at 19 Whitby Road.

Questions are taken from a variety of books (eg: Mastermind, Trivia, The National Quiz team, The Great Britain Quiz group), plus whatever members bring along on the day.

This is not a highly competitive group; it's a very sociable get together for those who enjoy good fun and an opportunity to keep the grey cells sharpened!

WI Walking Group

This is a friendly walking group for those who enjoy 4-6 miles, across the Forest or other local places.

We have about 3 regular walks per year organised by a former Forest Ranger, who takes us across the more remote areas. He has an excellent knowledge of the Forest which he is keen to share with us. These take place on the 3rd Wednesday of the month in the morning.

Members of the group volunteer to run monthly walks, but you can also post a message on our WhatsApp Walking Group to find someone who would like to go on a walk with you.
If you would like to be added to this group, text your name and mobile number to Kath.
