Our Committee Members

Cheryl Farnell - President, Salterns Group Representative, MCS & Website updating

I moved to the area in 2020 and joined Milford on Sea WI in September 2021 after the Covid lockdown.

Having been a Committee Member of a Hertfordshire WI for 10 years, I knew that when moving to a new area, joining the local WI is the perfect way to make friends, enjoy great activities and days out. I have not been disappointed!!

I am thrilled to be appointed President as of May 2023 and look forward to contributing to the future of our fabulous WI.

Linda Byrne - Secretary, Salterns Group Representative & Minutes Secretary

In September 2020 I moved to Milford, as I wanted to live in a village by the sea.

I joined Milford WI in September 2021 and have made many friends, enjoyed outings and belong to various groups.

I also enjoy reading, walking my dog and spending time in my garden.

Frances O'Donoghue - Treasurer

I joined the WI in Sept 2021 having moved here from Twickenham in the June. It's been a great way to meet people, make friends and get involved in the local community. I attend the Food and Produce Group, enjoy exploring the New Forest with the Walking Group and the Knit and Natter Group has encouraged me to take up knitting again after 30 years, which I find very relaxing.

Outside of the WI, I enjoy gardening and spending time with family and friends. I provide support for my husband who has Parkinson's and we are active members of the local Parkinson's community.

Carolyn Harbridge - Speaker Secretary

I joined the Milford on Sea WI shortly after moving here in early 2020 and have loved being part of a really friendly group

I have been running the Charity Raffle at our monthly evening meetings for a couple of years now but have changed role to act as Speaker Secretary and am always interested in suggestions for new Speakers

In addition to attending the monthly meetings, I enjoy both the Craft and the Food and Produce groups, participate in one of the Book Reading groups and enjoy our monthly social walks

Helen Howells - New Forest Show Representative & Hampshire News

I joined the WI soon after moving to Milford on Sea from Hertfordshire in 2019. It was the best decision ever, as it's been a brilliant way of making new friends and helped me settle into our lovely village.

There is always so much going on, in addition to the monthly meetings. I enjoy the Walking Group and Food and Produce Groups and have a go at new crafts too!

Diane Hardy - Name Badges

Milford on Sea is a vibrant village with life centering around The Green and our WI is a part of it. I became a member in 2021 and enjoy the Food and Produce and Craft groups and of course our monthly meetings, with a variety of speakers. I look forward to welcoming members each month as I hand out their name badges.
