Our Committee Members
Cheryl Farnell - President & Salterns Group Representative
I moved to the area in 2020 and joined Milford on Sea WI in September 2021 after the Covid lockdown.
Having been a Committee Member of a Hertfordshire WI for 10 years, I knew that when moving to a new area, joining the local WI is the perfect way to make friends, enjoy great activities and days out. I have not been disappointed!!
I am thrilled to be appointed President as of May 2023 and look forward to contributing to the future of our fabulous WI.

Diana Cobbett - Vice President, Chair of Salterns Group & MCS
David and I have lived in Milford on Sea since 2015, having known the area for the previous 30 years as my parents lived in Everton.
I joined the WI to make new friends, learn new skills and have fun and have had the honour and enjoyment of being President from May 1999 to 2023.
Margaret Snelgar - Minutes Secretary
I moved to Milford on Sea in 2016, but have lived in the local area most of my life.
Once retired, I made the decision to join the WI in order to meet people and integrate into the local community.
I have been a member now for several years. It's great fun and I've made so many new friends through it.
Sue Evans - Treasurer
I moved to Milford on Sea in 2013 to be near my family who live in Lymington.
I have been a member of the WI for over five years and enjoy the talks and socialising at our monthly meetings, as well as many other events that take place throughout the year.
In 2021, I was delighted to be given the opportunity to take on the Treasurer’s role. It's really good to be part of a team again and brings back fond memories of my working life in hospital administration.

Tracy Haupt - Website and Social Outings
I moved to Milford on Sea in August 2016 and keen to get involved with the local community, joined the WI along with other organisations.
It's such a great way of meeting people and there are so many interesting speakers throughout the year and plenty of group activities included in your membership too.
In my spare time, I play a lot of table tennis, enjoy regular walks locally and in the New Forest with two separate groups and enjoy keeping garden beds tidy.
Frances O'Donoghue - Welcomer & Hampshire News
I joined the WI in Sept 2021 having moved here from Twickenham in the June. It's been a great way to meet people, make friends and get involved in the local community. I attend the Food and Produce Group, enjoy exploring the New Forest with the Walking Group and the Knit and Natter Group has encouraged me to take up knitting again after 30 years, which I find very relaxing.
Outside of the WI, I enjoy gardening and spending time with family and friends. I provide support for my husband who has Parkinson's and we are active members of the local Parkinson's community.

Joanne Hope - Refreshments Co-ordinator
I moved to Milford on Sea in 2016 but had been visiting the area for over 20 years, as my Mum was already living here. She had been a Committee Member and had always encouraged me to join the WI in order to meet new friends.
So I'm following in my Mum's footsteps and looking forward to getting more involved in this lovely village.
Anne Haigh - Speaker Secretary
We moved to Milford from the Midlands nearly five years ago and love every minute living here.
I joined the WI two years ago. It's been a great way to meet new people and make friends, especially by joining the groups.
I've been on some lovely walks, read interesting books, learnt useful crafts and enjoyed the varied topics in the Food and Produce Group.
Helen Howells - New Forest Show Representative & Welcomer
I joined the WI soon after moving to Milford on Sea from Hertfordshire in 2019. It was the best decision ever, as it's been a brilliant way of making new friends and helped me settle into our lovely village.
There is always so much going on, in addition to the monthly meetings. I enjoy the Walking Group and Food and Produce Groups and have a go at new crafts too!
